Crete’s Vantaris Palace hotel was a surprise winner in the latest fvw Hotelometer rankings.
The four-star hotel at Georgioupolis leapt from eighth place in the previous Greece ranking to first in the top ten ranking for the fortnight from June 13 – 26, the demand-based fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece among German consumers showed.
This seems to have been mostly driven by strong enquiries from couples since it also topped that ranking as a new entrant, while it was also well-placed in the family ranking. Second in the overall Greece ranking was the Pilot Beach Resort, also on Crete, followed by the Euro Village Achilleas on Kos.
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece, showing customer enquiries but not actual bookings. It is based on all enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend, is split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings).
