“February has ended with a record for new jobs. According to the latest figures of the ERGANI system for the private sector, approximately 28,000 new job places were created in February. This performance is the highest for the month of February since 2001,” Labour Minister Effie Achtsioglou announced, in a statement to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Friday.
“The positive record for the creation of new jobs, in the exact same month that we increased the minimum wage, is a glaring refutation of the doom-mongers who said that an increase in wages would trigger layoffs,” she claimed.
