Stock farmers, industrialists and cheese makers agreed to set up the Feta Cheese Interprofessional Organization, at a meeting at the Greek Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food on Friday, ANA reports.
After wishing the new feta cheese authority a good prospect, Agriculture Minister Stavros Arachovitis stressed that the sole purpose of the Organization is to “defend and support the product,” and to be “the interlocutor of the state and its advisor,” noting that the organization is not a trade union.
