A grassroots organization of young overseas Cypriots is organizing its annual Discover Cyprus Programme in a bid to bring young people from the diaspora closer to their heritage.
NEPOMAK is offering those aged 18 to 22 the opportunity to visit their ancestors’ homeland for three weeks and to explore the island.
Successful applicants will also be participating in an intensive language program at the University of Cyprus, including excursions to historical, archaeological and natural wonders.
Students will be able to meet Cypriots from around the globe, and enjoy world-class beaches and the island’s unique nightlife together.
The cost of excursions, accommodation, and course fees will all be covered by NEPOMAK, with the potential to have a portion of the airfare costs included also.
To be eligible, applicants must be of Cypriot origin (with at least one Cypriot grandparent), between 18 to 22 years old, as well as a member of NEPOMAK.
The global network aims to preserve Cypriot culture and identity, and has some 15,000 young Cypriot members from across eight regions around the planet.
The program will run from July 3-28. Applications close Wednesday February 28. To apply visit https://nepomak.org/
