The Chambers of Commerce of the Greek, Cypriot and Egyptian diasporas in Australia are preparing an action plan to promote trade and investment relations with their three respective countries, CNA reports.
According to Photis Photiou, the Cypriot Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots, the members of the Chambers will discuss the initiative with representatives from these countries in the near future.
Photiou, along with the Greek Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Terens Quick, and Nabila Makram, the Egyptian Minister of State for Immigration and Expatriates’ Affairs, are in Australia to attend activities as part of the ”Nostos 3” program for the diaspora.
“Nostos 3” is a trilateral initiative between Greece, Cyprus and Egypt, aiming to bring the three diasporas of the countries closer and create strong bonds between them and their home countries.
In a joint announcement on Monday, the three officials highlighted the role of the diasporas in fostering commercial ties with Australia, and reconfirm their governments’ commitment to support diaspora businesspeople in their efforts to promote trade and investment initiatives.
