Trips by Cypriot residents declined by 87.6% year on year in December to just 17,958 compared with 144,619 in the respective period of 2019 affected the covid-19 pandemic, CNA reports.
According to Cystat, the main countries from which the residents of Cyprus returned in December 2020, were Greece, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Germany.
Compared with December 2019, the returns of residents from Greece decreased by 89.7%, returns from the United Kingdom decreased by 86.8%, Russia by 88.9%, and from Germany by 89.4%.
Cystat said that the statistics for December 2020 were obtained from the processing of the data of the electronic platform “Cyprus Flight Pass”. Due to issues that arose from the self-declared information provided by the passengers, it was not possible to provide a more extensive analysis, Cystat added.
