Government expects second wave of charge reductions by banks in Greece

“Three systemic banks today and the fourth one on Monday will announce not only the suspension of planned charges on banking services but also reductions to charges already introduced,” Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis said on Friday, according to ANA.

In comments made to Antenna TV, the Greek minister noted this will be the first wave of reductions. “We are in talks (with banks) and there will be a second wave of charge reductions in November,” he noted, adding that the Prime Minister has asked banks to present a wide program of support for consistent borrowers.
