Greek PM will work to secure as many European Union funds as possible

“Europe is called upon to face two problems and four challenges at the same time. The first of the two problems is due to the fact that one of the key contributing countries – the United Kingdom – left the EU, and the second, that the contributing countries insist on a reduced EU budget,” government spokesperson Stelios Petsas said on Wednesday during a press briefing referring to the participation of Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the extraordinary meeting of the European Council on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027.

Petsas noted that, as a result, resources must be found to address the four challenges related to Cohesion Policy, the Common Agricultural Policy, the migration-refugee crisis, and climate change.
