“We are closely monitoring the market and we are ready to take extraordinary measures in cases of uncontrolled profiteering,” noted Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis, in an interview with MEGA TV on Thursday, ANA reports.
“For the time being there are no shortages of goods and the market is adequately supplied,” he said, adding that there was a slight problem with antiseptics as consumption was very high.
He noted that, for the time being, there was no serious damage in terms of total turnover, though some sectors are experiencing big losses, such as airlines, hotels and many others. On the other hand, other sectors, such as supermarkets and electrical appliance stores were seeing high profits. The liquidity support the government is planning will be targeted according to each sector, he pointed out.
