The Greek government made a first assessment of the deal reached at the Brussels Summit, calling it a “historic day for the European Union, as it takes a decisive step towards greater political and economic integration”, int.ert.gr reports.
It is pointed out that for the first time such large joint lending of the European Commission is instituted on behalf of the Member States, in order to receive the grants.
More specifically, Greece is expected to receive nearly 32 billion euros, of which 19.5 billion relate to grants and 12.5 billion to loans. In addition, almost 40 billion euros will come from the Multiannual Financial Framework, which will be given through actions of the medium-term development program (NSRF) and the Common Agricultural Policy for the period 2021-2027.
