Greece's Development Minister hints at lower VAT on certain products

Greece’s Development and Investment Minister Adonis Georgiadis in an interview with Mega TV late on Monday left open the possibility of reducing the VAT on a series of products to contain price hikes.

The minister announced that the government is considering reducing the VAT on certain products, adding that this is a measure that is under consideration in order to intervene through tax relief on certain types of products and to curb the inflation wave that the country is experiencing.
