Greek Parliament President Nikos Voutsis condemned on Saturday the persecution and detention of the leadership and numerous lawmakers of Turkey’s Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), describing them as a “pogrom”.
“I feel obliged to express my unequivocal condemnation of the persecution and pogroms against the elected deputies of Turkey’s Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), ans especially the co-chairs, Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag,” Voutsis said, commenting on their recent arrests.
