Greek Deputy FM: Turkish rhetoric of revisionism is unthinkable

The rhetoric in relation to revisionism is for us unthinkable,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Amanatidis in statements to Kokkino radio station on Wednesday adding that “we promote the position of our country as a factor of stability in the region.” 

Amanatidis was asked on Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan’s statements regarding the Treaty of Lausanne.

As he said, the treaty has been signed by a lot of countries and added that the support to Greece at an international level is taken for granted. The minister noted that it is a tense period for Turkey’s internal affairs.

As regards Albania’s statements, he explained that “Greece supported the strengthening of bilateral relations and such statements undermine the confidence climate.” In any case,” he said, “the protection of the Greek national minority is one of the conditions for the integration of Albania into the EU.
