Turkish-Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci considers unnecessary the participation of the five permanent members of UN Security Council in the Cyprus Summit to be held in Geneva on January 12.
“The agreement of December 1st makes it clear that apart from the two sides and the guarantor powers there will be no one else present” he said, adding that “The final agreement will be signed by the new united federal Cyprus that will be created.”
President of Cyprus republic Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish-Cypriot leaders are expected to meet on January 4, while the probability of another meeting before the transition in Geneva on 7 January has not been dismissed.
