Greece sent relief items to Albania after Tirana asked for emergency assistance

Greece has sent essential relief items to Albania to assist the country cope with the most severe rainfalls ever recorded in the country, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection said on Friday. 

The Albanian government activated the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) as it experiences shortages in emergency supplies (first aid kits, sleeping bags, tents, lifejackets), food (dry and packaged food, baby foods and diapers), emergency equipment (eg generators, lenses, water pumps), and in bridge construction materials. 

Athens sent 5 generators producing 2.5 kVa, 1,500 raincoats and 100 pairs of rain boots.
