Greece sends message of solidarity to Austria after terrorist attack

All of Europe is numb after the terrorist attack in Vienna, which left 5 people dead and 15 wounded, int.ert.gr reports.

Almost simultaneously, the gunmen stormed the center of the Austrian capital, near the Jewish synagogue. Among the dead is the perpetrator who is reported to be an Islamist terrorist.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz spoke about a heinous terrorist attack and is expected to address the citizens shortly. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his solidarity to the Austrian people over the terrorist attack in Vienna.

In a Twitter post, Mr. Mitsotakis expressed his full support and solidarity to the Austrian people. “Our thoughts are with the people in Vienna and the authorities dealing with the situation. Our hearts, are with the victims and their loved ones. Europe stands united against terror”.

Furthermore, the Greek foreign ministry on Tuesday expressed profound shock at the terror attacks in Vienna, in a post on Twitter, and solidarity with the people of Austria.

“Profoundly shocked by the appalling attacks in #Vienna. Our thoughts are with all affected by this senseless act of violence. We stand in solidarity with the people of #Austria, we stand united against hatred & terror@MFA_Austria,” the tweet noted.
