Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias was welcomed by his counterpart in Paraguay Julio César Arriola in Asunción, in the presence of Deputy FMs Raúl Silvero Silvano and Enrique Franco, he said in a tweet on Thursday.
Dendias said that he held a constructive discussion with them on bilateral relations, regional & international affairs, Paraguay-EU relations, Greece’s candidacy to the UN Security Council non-temporary members in 2025-2026, economy & investments, energy & renewable energy sources, and culture, including UNESCO, ANA reports.
The Greek minister is concluding a tour of six countries of Central and North America that commenced on February 6 with a visit to Panama and Jamaica on Friday (Feb. 10). He has already visited Brazil (Feb. 6), Uruguay (Feb. 7), and Argentina (Feb. 8). Excepting Panama, it was the first-ever visit of a Greek foreign minister in these countries, and he was scheduled to sign a series of bilateral memoranda of understanding in several countries.
