Passengers on the Athens Metro Line 3 going to or from the Athens International Airport (AIA) will have to switch at the Doukissis Plakentias stop as of Thursday, Stasy said on Monday, according to ANA.
Stasy announced that travelers who board in Athens stations will disembark at Plakentias and wait there for Metro trains going to the airport every half hour (at :25 and :55).
Conversely, travelers arriving at the AIA will take the Metro line departing on the hour and at half past (:00 and :30) to Plakentias, where they will switch train to one heading to Agia Marina, every few minutes. There will be no change in platforms.
Passengers who want to use the Athens suburban railway line (proastiakos) will have to switch platforms for that train.
Stasy argued the purpose of the change is to add more runs to the Agia Marina-Plakentias section during heavy passenger traffic times.
