Flights from Catalonia (Spain) will be suspended until Monday, February 22, while flights from Albania and North Macedonia will be carried out only at Athens International Airport, Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced on Tuesday, according to ANA.
More specifically, the CAA announced the following measures for the protection of airline passengers and citizens from the pandemic, effective from Tuesday at dawn until 6:00 in the morning on Monday, February 22:
-Suspension of flights to and from Catalonia: The suspension of flights between Greece and the region of Catalonia in Spain is extended.
-Arrivals only at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport from Albania / North Macedonia: All flights to and from Greece from Albania and North Macedonia according to the new extension of NOTAM will be operated only at the AIA ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’.
The following flights are excluded from the air directive (Notam):
* Flights that indicate that they are in a dangerous situation (emergency flights).
* Support flights of the Hellenic National Healthcare system (Hellenic national healthcare system flights).
* Repatriation flights with the approval of the Ministry. External (Flights approved by the foreign ministry for repatriation)
* State flights.
* Sanitary flights.
* Humanitarian flights.
* Military flights.
* Cargo flights.
* Fire fighting flights.
* Frontex flights.
* Technical landing flights where passengers do not disembark.
* Return flights with only crew on board (ferry flights).
