The Greek merchant shipping fleet grew in numbers but fell in capacity in January, with the fleet totaling 1,854 ships, up 1.1 pct compared with the same month last year (the Greek fleet was down 0.3 pct in the 2017/2016 period), Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday, according to ANA.
The statistics service, in a monthly report, announced that the total capacity of the Greek fleet was 44,049,367 gross tonnage, down 1.5 pct compared with January 2017 (capacity was up 0.6 pct in the 2017/2016 period).
