Greek President expresses solidarity to Italian counterpart over COVID-19 crisis

President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou spoke on the phone on Thursday with Italian President Sergio Mattarella to express her own and the Greek people’s solidarity with the Italian people, ANA reports.

She expressed her deep sorrow over the numerous victims of the coronavirus in Italy and her admiration for the Italian citizens’ responsible stance in handling the pandemic. She also sent a message of optimism to Italy, wishing to Mattarella “andrà tutto bene” (everything will go all right).

On his part, the Italian president thanked Sakellaropoulou for her sincere expression of solidarity and expressed the hope that the pandemic will soon be successfully addressed, noting that it was a pandemic without borders which has changed everyone’s lives.
