A photograph of the iconic Acropolis in central Athens posted by National Geographic on its Instagram account has already received more than 1.2 million “likes”, naftemporiki.gr reports.
The image depicts the eponymous hill and the Classical-era antiquities atop – the western end – it during the last full moon of the year in 2018.
It was taken by two-time Pulitzer prize-winning Israeli photo-journalist Muhammed Muheisen and is among the most popular on the well-known US magazine social media account.
