The 8th UNWTO International Meeting on Silk Road Tourism will take place in October, in Thessaloniki, ANA reports and points out that it is the largest meeting of the World Tourism Organisation and it is the first time that it is organized in a European country.
During a presentation of the event, the regional governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas underlined the importance of organising a successful meeting:
“The Region of Central Macedonia, along with the European Interdisciplinary Center for Tourism of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, Aegean, and the support of the Ministry of Culture, submitted an application and achieved this important goal,” he said.
