Anti-fascist film festival commences at Studio cinema in Athens today

The Organization for the Collective Management and Rights’ Protection of Motion Pictures Producers ERMEIAS, holds an Anti-Nazi-Antifascist Film Festival on December 10-16, at the Studio cinema, int.ert.gr reports.

The festival highlights the concerns and thoughts about an alarmingly growing phenomenon. It will feature the films Children of Rome Open City, With the Glow in the Eyes, The Silence of the Sea, Betrayal, Bloko, Rome, Open City, Son of Saul. These carefully selected films, offer not only food for thought and reflection, but also an access to rare works that have left their imprint in cinematic history.

The festival concludes on Monday, December 17, with the conference titled “An Approach to the Anti-Nazi, Anti-Fascist Cinema” which will take place at the General Secretariat of Information and Communication’s Amphitheater. The conference speakers are: academics George Andritsos, Lizianna Delveroudis, Vangelis Karamanolakis, Marina Maropoulou and the film critic Ninos Mikelides. During the conference,Takis Kanellopoulos’ film Uranus will be screened.

Entrance to the films and the conference is free.
