For its 5th edition, The Big Bang Festival invites children from 0 to 12 years old, to discover what Music means, through a series of events designed to appeal to their natural curiosity, int.ert.gr reports.
For two whole days, on May 25 and 26, the Onassis Cultural Center (Stegi) will be transformed into a huge music playground. The program features musicians, bands, artists, parades, experiments, constructions and performances. The children will have the opportunity to sneak into scientists’ labs or into the belly of a guitar, to become orchestra conductors or just parade through the neighbourhood to the sound of music.
Some of the program’s highlights include “The Cooking Orchestra” with master chef Angelos Papadimitriou and a group of cooks/musicians who prepare a special kids menu, during which, they create music with their cooking utensils. The French music ensemble “Spat ‘Sonore” will present “Des madeleines dans la galaxie” and their weirdly-shaped wind instruments in an installation/concert event. The Deep Fusion Butterfly Band organize a workshop with adults with or without intellectual disability that will end with a concert for children. Musicians and educators have cooperated to create a concert featuring both contemporary and traditional music.
