The Lysicrates Foundation is honored to announce that the wife of Australia’s Governor-General, Mrs. Linda Hurley has agreed to become the Foundation’s patron, greekcitytimes.com reports.
Both Governor-General David Hurley and Mrs. Hurley are long-standing fans of the Lysicrates Foundation.
Mrs. Hurley also composed the official Ballad of Lysicrates, which she has sung at several Lysicrates events.
The Lysicrates Foundation was established by John and Patricia Azarias as a not-for-profit organization, promoting the performing arts and the visual arts in Australia.
The Foundation will pursue its purpose by, among other things, staging an annual playwriting competition known as The Lysicrates Prize Competition and financing the maintenance of the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden.
