The Science Reactors are back with a new stand-up show in Athens

Do scientists have a sense of humor? How could we make everyday science concepts understandable? How is science combined with improvisation and comedy?

In an effort to answer these questions and approach science in a different way, the Science Reactors team returns to the Herakleidon Museum with a new stand up show on Friday, December 13th at 8pm, int.ert.gr reports.

Through entertaining monologues and with the audience’s participation, the scientists will attempt to turn complicated science concepts in easy to understand stories. And more specifically, stories filled with humour!

The group consists of young scientists with high communication skills, but most importantly, with a passion for science. The team’s activities so far are: Science on Stage (science theatre) and Stand Up Science (in the footsteps of Stand-up comedy). Since 2014, they take part in all major scientific events.

The Science Reactors consist of:

  • Stefanos Giagtzoglou, biologist
  • Ermis Zacharopoulos, undergraduate student, Athens University of Economics & Business
  • Athanassios Koustenis, biochemist
  • Kyriakos Oikonomou, student of Medicine (University of Thessaloniki)
  • Kostas Peristeris, doctor
  • Alexandros Sourtzis, architect
  • Polyxeni Spiliopoulou, master student in Sports Science, (University of Athens)
  • Christos Pantazidis, chemist.
