TIF-Helexpo CEO Kyriakos Pozrikidis, in an interview with Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Friday, estimated that the pandemic makes TIF-HELEXPO more sustainable and better prepared for the phase of Greek economic recovery in the context of the special edition for the restart of the Greek economy (ECONOMY RESTART https://www.amna.gr/special-edition ).
He also added that the cancellation of the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair does not mean more than 50 million euros in losses for the city of Thessaloniki, reminding that the economic contribution of the national exhibition organizer is equal to approximately 3 to 3.5 pct of the regional unit’s GDP.
Asked if the important political and economic forum organized this year instead of TIF, can function as a pilot for separating the political from the economic-commercial section of the exhibition, he said that “this separation is only a pseudodilemma, which would downgrade and devalue TIF and would be a short-sighted approach.”
