First written exam for Greek citizenship scheduled on May 16 nationwide

The first written examination for foreign-born nationals to acquire Greek citizenship will be held nationwide on May 16, the Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday, according to ANA.

Once they pass the exam, foreigners will be awarded the Certificate of Adequate Knowledge for Naturalization. The next step is to be interviewed by a three-member committee, which will determine the level of each person’s potential integration. This last step is regulated by both the Interior Ministry and the National Transparency Authority.

The online platform to apply for the exam will open in the coming days, but a description of the general subjects in the test has been posted online at the website of the General Secretariat of Citizenship of the Interior Ministry at https://exetaseis-ithageneia.ypes.gr/#topics (general home page for exams: https://exetaseis-ithageneia.ypes.gr).
