Greek Cultural Center in Astoria makes fundraising appeal after being shut for one year

Since 1974, the Greek Cultural Center (GCC) has offered New Yorkers a myriad of programs including theatrical productions, musical performances, and film screenings. Staffed by volunteers, 100% of donations, fees, and fundraising are applied to operational and program expenses.

Since the COVID pandemic, GCC has been mandated to close for in-person events for an entire year now. GCC is facing an extremely difficult financial situation with the loss of income especially from their annual fundraising event.

In an appeal via email, GCC said, “Please consider donating. Please consider becoming a monthly contributor. No amount is too small and we are grateful for your consideration.”

“See our fundraising activities over the years by clicking on ‘Annual Events’ on our website. We value your feedback on the website as we have been transitioning to online events.”

GCC’s current online events may be viewed on the GCC website: https://www.greekculturalcenter.org/.

Two videos on the history of the GCC are also available online: https://www.greekculturalcenter.org/history.

More information is available via email: info@greekculturalcenter.org.
