Giant Greek flag hanged in the Municipality of Dirfys-Messapia on Evia island (video)

An extremely large Greek flag hangs in front of the Town Hall of the Municipality of Dirfys-Messapia, in Evia, greekcitytimes.com reports.

On his own initiative and at his own expense, businessman Charalampos Konstantakis (President & CEO of Evoiki Zimi), ordered the massive flag on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Greek War of Independence.

2021 is an important milestone for Greece and Greeks around the globe.

It celebrates 200 years since the beginning of the Greek revolution that secured Greece’s independence after centuries of Ottoman Turkish tyranny.

On March 25, 2021, bridges and buildings in Massachusetts, will be illuminated with the colors of Greece, to commemorate the bicentennial of the Greek War of Independence.

Massachusetts is the most populous state in the New England region of the United States.

According to Greece’s Consul General in Boston, Stratos Efthymiou, five emblematic bridges across the state, including the cable-stay Zakim Bridge and two landmarks will be illuminated in blue and white.
