NEW YORK — Simon Fraser University (SFU) in British Columbia has announced that it will confer an honorary degree on Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos in June 2021. Other June honorary degree recipients include actor Michal J. Fox and “Father of Wi-Fi” Victor Hayes.
SNF has enjoyed a long and multifaceted partnership with SFU, including, in 2011, in the establishment of the SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies through a significant grant from the Foundation. A long-term project at the Centre to create digital Modern Greek language learning tools, also supported by SNF, culminated recently in the launch of the StaEllinika initiative.

Andreas Dracopoulos is dedicated to the work of philanthropy in both his public and private life. He is co-president of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), which has made nearly 5,000 grants to non-profits in more than 130 countries over 25 years.
