ATHENS – The throbbing beat of the band Onirama was the cultural pulse of the Attika Basin on the fifth evening of the Summer Nostos Festival at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in the Athens suburb of Kallithea.
From June 17-24 the Festival presents simultaneous events at multiple venues at its fabulous cultural center and park, day and night, including fun and educational activities for children. When the sun goes down the music comes up, with concerts of different musical styles.
Prior to Onirama, which packed the great lawn and surrounding spaces with people of all ages on a warm Thursday night – a trio of fine musicians based in the USA – Pianist Achilleas Wastor, percussionist Cliff Almond, and basist Panagiotis Andreou. dazzled with jazzy 21st century renditions of classical music pieces like Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
