On Saturday evening, the Greek Community of Melbourne and Victoria attended a celebration where fans gathered to celebrate Stefanos Tsitsipas’ success at the Australian Open and got the chance to meet and congratulate the star tennis player in person, greekreporter.com notes.
Although a little tired, the 20-year-old Greek champion tennis player was full of smiles, laughs, and gratitude for his fans as he socialized with the attendees at the event organized by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria (GOCMV). He shared with his youngest fans, a group of children, some heartfelt words of advice and encouragement on following their dreams, no matter what setbacks they encounter.
At the celebrations, Tsitsipas also took the opportunity to reflect on his love for the sport of tennis as well as the support that he felt from his Greek and Australian fans — especially the support from his biggest fans, his parents and siblings — during the Australian Open.
Tsitsipas signed numerous autographs, as young fans gathered around him, taking selfies with their idol.
