International film studio opens in Greek northern city of Thessaloniki

“Thessaloniki becomes the next major destination for the the production of audiovisual content in Europe,” noted Greek Digital Policy Deputy Minister, Lefteris Kretsos, during his visit at the Nu Boyana Film Studios headquarters in Bulgaria, according to int.ert.gr.

Lefteris Kretsos also underlined that: “We have been in touch with the owners of Nu Boyana Film Studios and Millenium Pictures for several months, both in Sofia and Los Angeles. Today we are able to announce the creation of an international cinema studio in the industrial area of Thermi, in Thessaloniki. The development of the audiovisual industry in our country has begun. It is a national affair and there is a need for a synergy of forces to get Greece the place it deserves in the international film and audiovisual industries. ”

“We are very happy that the studios will expand their activities in Greece by constructing a film studio in Thermi. The new studio in Thermi will offer all the necessary infrastructure and equipment in order to support the needs of Millennium Films, as well as other production companies,” added Nu Boyana studios CEO Yariv Lerner.
