The service of “Odontotos”, the iconic rack railway train of Kalavryta in northern Peloponnese, will return to service again on Thursday following a landslide, Hellenic Railways’ TrainOSE said on Wednesday, according to ANA.
The train uses a toothed rack rail for part of the journey through forestland. Its schedule was interrupted in April after landslides in the Kato Zachlorou community and repairs were delayed on the popular route due to extreme weather conditions.
