The Spanish Navy’s training ship ‘Juan Sebastian de Elcano’ will be docked at the Port of Piraeus’ Gate E11 from Saturday to Monday, ANA reports.
Piraeus is the first port of call for Elcano’s 94th training mission that celebrates the 500th anniversary since the first circumnavigation of the globe (1519-1522), a statement by the Spanish Embassy said. The circumnavigation was undertaken by Portuguese navigator and explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who sailed under the flag and orders of Spain.
Visiting hours for the public are as follows:
Saturday, Feb. 26 – 10:00 to 13:30 and 16:00-17:45
Sunday, Feb. 27 – 16:00 to 17:45
Monday, Feb. 28 – 10:00 to 13:30 and 16:00-17:00
Health measures related to the coronavirus pandemic will be observed.
