Tourism revenue in Cyprus was up by 11.7% in 2017 and 9.6% in December, data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service, on Monday, record.
On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism rose to €55.8 mn in December 2017 compared to €50.9 mn in December 2016, recording an increase of 9.6%.
According to the Statistical Service’s data for the period of January – December 2017 revenue from tourism is estimated to be €2,639.1 mn compared to €2,363.4 mn in the same period of the previous year, recording a rise of 11,7%.
Expenditure per person in December 2017 reached €564.21 compared to €578.91 in the December 2016, showing a drop of 2.5%.
Expenditure per person/per day for December 2017 compared to December 2016 also recorded a decrease of 6.4%.
