European Heritage Days celebrated with free entrance to museums in Greece over weekend

Archaeological sites and museums across Greece will be open to the public for free on Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24, to share their location’s story and celebrate the European Heritage Days, the ministry of culture said on Thursday.

“Through books and photographs, sounds, songs and dances, walks, performances and fairy tales, cities will reveal themselves through short or long stories, private or public, real or imaginary,” the ministry announced, at 117 sites throughout the country.

The annual event is held by the Council of Europe and the European Union to promote the cultural heritage of Europe. It runs from Sept. 22 to 24, with free entrance provided for two of those days.
