Brit playwright Eve Leigh presents “Surfacing” at National Greek Theater

Eve Leigh, a British playwright and theater director brings her new play Surfacing at the National Theater’s Experimental Stage (-1) in Athens on December 9.

Leigh visited the Greek National theater last May where she attended performances and met with Greek artists and explored alternative dramaturgic ways as well as novel forms of experimental texts beyond the boundaries of English-speaking theater. After her visit, she worked on an innovative and experimental concept that she curated.

“Surfacing” is a play performed in English and interpreted by Greek actors.

A few words about Eve Leigh

Eve Leigh is a graduate of the program for new writers at the Royal Court theater along with the program of the National Theater of England. Her play, Stone Face is nominated for three awards at the Off West End Awards, including the award for Best 2016 Theatrical Performance. She has worked with Royal Court, Royal Shakespeare Company and Teatr Polski Bydgoszcz for the Festival Prampér (Festival of New Dramaturgies).
