Prompted by the major changes that the pandemic has brought in our lives, the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun has announced its passage to a new era for the performing arts. In addition to its basic artistic program, the Art Theatre, like many artistic organizations worldwide, is seeking ways to develop a broader, multidimensional set of activities through three main channels: a digital repertoire and digital education, lifelong learning for theatre professionals, and educational programs and activities for everyone inside and outside its two stages.
Consequently, the Art Theatre will present performances and actions for the internet in multimedia (web), audio, or live format, opening the dialogue between theatre and virtual reality at the level of creation and not only transmission, while expanding the relationship of theatre with other professional fields, such as business or tourism, but also extending its educational activity beyond the professional training of actors provided by its Drama School from 1942 until today.
