The Greek National Meteoroligac Services (EMY) warned a heavy weather front would hit most parts of the country from Sunday evening. The extreme weather bulletin released by EMY warns of heavy rainfalls and storms and snow in the mountainous regions. The detailed report warns of periodical heavy rainfalls in all of the country on Monday, with snow expected to fall from Sunday night in mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of the Peloponnese, central and eastern mainland Greece, Euboea and in some areas in Thessaly.
Temperatures are expected to drop significantly. Snow is also forecast to fall in all mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of mainland Greece, as well as lowland regions in Macedonia, Thrace and Thessaly. The extreme weather phenomena are expected to be gradually limited to the eats and north of the country and finally fade out on Thursday.
