Greek youngsters throw petrol bombs against riot police in Exarcheia

A group of young individuals threw petrol bombs and stones against unit of riot police (MAT) stationed in the wider area of Exarcheia, central Athens, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The attacks took place from 02:15 to 03:00 on the streets of Tositsa, Stournari and Harilaou Trikoupi, but no injuries were reported. Patission avenue was briefly closed off until 05:00.

A 37-year-old man detained by police in relation to the skirmishes was later released.

In a separate incident, unknown individuals threw four incendiary devices at a taxi car parked outside a car dealership on Alexandras Avenue. The explosion damaged the taxi, a nearby car and the windows of the dealership.
