Investigations are in progress in Athens, regarding the parcel bomb that exploded at IMF offices in Paris, injuring an employee. The parcel was sent via mail from Greece, the sender’s name allegedly being that of New Democracy spokesperson Vasilis Kikilias. French President François Hollande condemned this act, while IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde spoke of a cowardly act of violence.
Greek and French authorities associate the explosion with the parcel bomb sent to Wolfgang Schäuble, the sender allegedly being New Democracy Vice-President Adonis Georgiadis, for which the organization “Conspiracy of Cells of Fire” took the blame.
This act is an affront to the political system, said Deputy Citizen Protection Minister adding, “We are determined to deal with all these issues”. New Democracy commented that the attempt to target it, by using names of its officials as senders, will fail miserably.
