The strong northerly winds are going to significantly subside on Wednesday, the meteo service of Athens National Observatory said, according to ANA.

At the same time, the risk of fire in many parts of the country will remain very high, particularly in southern Evia, in the region of Attica, the islands of eastern Aegean, in Rhodes and in southern Crete.
Furthermore, the firefighting forces struggled throughout the night to save the four villages that were threatened by the major wildfire on Evia. The fire has burnt a huge part of a pine forest.
