Two EMAK rescue teams from Greece to assist Albania following strong quake

Greece’s response to the Albanian government’s request through the European Civil Protection Mechanism for assistance due to the strong earthquake was immediate, ANA reports.

According to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, two EMAK rescue teams with equipment from Athens and Ioannina are leaving to help the Albanian Authorities in rescue work. In particular, twenty-five members of the 1st EMAK with a sniffer dog depart from Athens with a C130 military aircraft, while another 15 members of the 5th EMAK depart from Ioannina with vehicles and special equipment.
