Four Turks arrested for burglary at Ecumenical Patriarch’s house

According to reports from Euronews, Turkish authorities arrested four people on Wednesday suspected of a burglary that took place at the house of Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomeos more than a week ago, greekcitytimes.com notes.

Police arrested the individuals after a raid where one of the four suspects opened fire against the officers. The police shot the offender and transferred him to hospital.

During the burglary of November 16 at his residence, Patriarch Vartholomeos was attending a social gathering and the housekeeper was the sole person in the premises on the evening in question.

The buiding’s closed-circuit television cameras caught the suspects entering the house which is situated in a residential complex protected by private security.
