Cold front from the Balkans to affect Greece from Tuesday to Thursday

A cold front that is currently over the Balkans is moving south and will cross Greece from Tuesday night until early Thursday, the meteo service of the Athens National Observatory said on Tuesday, according to ANA.

The cold front will bring a sharp drop in temperatures and frost in the north of the Greek mainland. Rain and snow is expected to fall even in areas with low altitude.

On Tuesday, rain will fall in the western and northern areas of Greece and snow will fall during the night in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Macedonia and Thrace. By Wednesday morning, snow will begin falling in areas with low altitudes in Macedonia while rainfall is expected in Thessaly, in eastern central Greece, in the Peloponnese, the Cyclades islands and Evia.
