Greek Health Minister: All measures have been taken to protect public health

“All necessary measures have been taken to protect public health,” Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias said on Monday, after a meeting on the coronavirus epidemic at the Maximos Mansion, attended by several ministers and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“There is the geographical fact of Italy and as scientists say the chances that it may come to Greece have perhaps increased. But the country is protected, there are 13 referral hospitals, all the other hospitals are ready, as well as health centers, the ambulance service, the National Public Health Organisation, the Committee of Experts on Infectious Diseases and Specialists headed by Professor Tsiodos, who will make extensive announcements this afternoon from the ministry. We are obliged to protect public health and this means that we must seriously, properly and institutionally inform citizens,” the minister stressed.
