Wide divergence in temperatures between north and south Greece on Monday

Temperatures in various parts of Greece showed an impressively wide divergence on Monday, with parts of the northwest experiencing temperatures close to freezing at the same time as parts of the south enjoyed a balmy 20C or more, ANA reports.

According to measurements taken by the network of automatic weather stations of the Athens National Observatory weather service meteo.gr, the lowest temperatures (- 0.3C) were in Vlasti, Kozani, and Vovousa, Ioannina and the highest was on the island of Kastellorizo (22.3C).

Forecast temperature ranges are between -2C and 20C in Western Macedonia, 2C to 24C in the rest of northern Greece, 2C to 25C in Epirus, 5C to 26C in Thessaly and 7C to 26C on the rest of the mainland. Forecast temperatures for the islands of the Ionian will be from 12C to 24C, while for the islands of the Aegean and on Crete they will range from 12C to 25C.
